Costanoa - Labor Day Weekend 2014
To take advantage of the 3 day weekend we booked a night with a bunch of friends at Costanoa, a "campground" on the coast just south of Pescadero. I put "campground" in quotation marks because its what many people refer to as "glamping"- in other words, all of the fun of camping without a lot of the hard work, discomfort and mess :) It was our first attempt at anything close to camping with the kids so it seemed like a good way to get the experience while minimizing the odds of it being a total fiasco!
Ready to hit the road!
The kids got right to work playing as soon as we got there
Playing football with some of the bigger kids :)
Hide and seek
It's not "glamping" without a pedicure!
Yummy dinner cooked over the campfire
Anna, Brianna and "Other Anna"
Hugging her "Tent"
Getting her supplies ready for the best part of camping - S'mores!
Looking for worms with their flashlights as the sun went down
Fun with glow sticks!
She was thrilled with the tent. We split up into two tents, Anna and I in one, Zach and Andrew in the other.
Being silly before bed
Fast asleep as the sun came up
It it were any bigger I don't think he could have fit it in his mouth
Making oatmeal with Daryl
Sarah cooking up some bacon - yes, there was electricity in the tents we could plug into.
Pancakes... and a leftover cheeseburger from dinner
As Zach said, "When you are camping, and there are leftover cheeseburgers from the night before, and someone is making bacon and pancakes, what's a guy to do?" The verdict: delicious.
The girls had a "Secret Hideaway" in front of the fireplace at the Comfort Station (aka the bathrooms). Strange location but they thought it was great.
Helping pack up Daryl's truck to head home.
The kids had so much fun and told us in no uncertain terms that next time we have to stay for 2 nights!
