Boston

The day after Anna finished school we kicked off summer vacation by heading to the airport and hopping on a flight for Boston. Many of you know that I lived in Boston for about 5 years after college and one of my good friends still lives there. The kids had never been and since we were headed East we decided to start our trip there, with the added bonus of spending some time with one of our favorite families, the Powells.

Ready for takeoff!

Anna wasted no time discovering the costumes in the downstairs playroom.

Taking in some history

Swan boats!

The obligatory photos with the "Make Way for Ducklings" statues

Of course Anna has to take it to the next level and get a photo of the duck attacking her...

 Elliot, Andrew and Anna

With only a day and a half in Boston we had to be sure we hit all the important landmarks :)

Elliot, Anna, Andrew, Henry and that creepy owl.... Andrew wasn't quite sure about him.

The next morning we went to an early lunch at another favorite restaurant (The Fireplace). While we waited for it to open Andrew kept us all up to speed on whether each passing train was "Inbound!" or "Outbound!"

After lunch we headed to South Station to catch the train to New York City! Thanks so much to Devon and Mike for being great hosts and Henry and Elliot for sharing their toys.
