Andrew's 3rd Birthday

It's hard to believe our little guy is three! While we didn't have a big party this year, Andrew was lucky to have Nana and Papa here to help celebrate and the celebration lasted several days!

Waking up on his birthday to discover a new toy, setup and ready for playing!

How old are you? (His best attempt at putting up 3 fingers!)

This truck and construction equipment fanatic was over the moon to be visited at 7am by a flatbed truck and a forklift here to deliver some sod.

Birthday pancake cake, now a tradition around here

With his scooter sufficiently decorated, the birthday boy is ready to hit the road!

Opening presents...

Playing with Nana

Time for some real cake!

Can't leave any crumbs behind!

More presents!

And the final present of the day.... at this point he said "That's not a present! That's a BIKE!"

The aftermath

A few days later we took Andrew to Build-a-Bear. When asked a few weeks ago how he wanted to celebrate his birthday he told me this is what he wanted to do. Funny that we had Anna's 3rd birthday party at Build-A-Bear!

Waiting to pick out his new friend

With the dog carefully selected he watches it get stuffed

Giving the dog's heart a kiss before putting it inside

Giving the dog a bath. Notice Anna brought Hootie, the owl she made there on her 3rd birthday.
  Naming the dog "Ruffy"

Running through the mall dragging Ruffy along

A brief visit to the Lego store

And of course an escalator ride to complete the mall experience

Topped off by lunch and In-N-Out at the request of the birthday boy

Reading some books to Ruffy

Trying out the hockey set he got from Nana and Papa

Doing silly faces pictures with Mom, a new favorite activity

Andrew seemed to love every moment of his birthday weekend and will now proudly tell you that he is in fact 3 and a half years old - how time flies in the mind of a child! We love you Andrew!

Now its time to start potty training..... wish us luck!
