First Day of Junior Kindergarten!
Today was Anna's first day of school at her new "big girl" school! She finished Pre-K at the end of July but is not old enough for Kindergarten so the only option other than repeating Pre-K was to enroll her in "Junior Kindergarten". We started referring to it as "big girl" school for several reasons. First, she goes for a full school day five days a week. That's a big leap from half days only 3 days a week! And, she has to wear a school uniform. The jury is still out on how this is going to go with Anna. I have a feeling she is going to grow tired of her limited options - skirt or dress? Blue shirt or yellow shirt? But on the plus side it eliminates the debates in the morning over what to wear and means I have to spend less time shopping for school clothes! Anna has been very excited about starting her new school and there were no signs of any anxiety or worry today. Her teacher, Mrs. Yar, seems really nice and knew Anna by name when she walked in the door. When we picked her up she was helping out her new classmates to make sure they remembered their folders.
