Star of the Week

A few weeks ago Anna came home from school with a letter explaining that she was going to be the "Star of the Week" the week of May 9th. She was asked to make a poster with things like places she has visited, favorite activities, her heritage etc. It also said that she could bring something to class each day to share with the class (with the notable exceptions of pets and goody bags). What the letter doesn't mention and what I have since learned is by far the best part of being Star of the Week is that she would get to stand at the front of the line anytime they left or returned to the classroom. VERY exciting it seems.

Here is Anna with her poster!

In the interest of documenting what she liked at this stage in her life, here are some of the lists that we came up with to put on her poster board:

Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Movie: Beauty and The Beast
Favorite TV Show: Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends
Favorite Game: Lotto Game
Favorite Activities:
- Going to the Park
- Playing Soccer
- Helping Daddy in the Garden
- Puzzles
- Going to the Zoo
Favorite Food:
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Sweet Potatoes
- Watermelon
- Cornbread
- Anything with Cheese!
Places I Have Been:
- Akron, OH
- British Virgin Islands
- Chicago, IL
- Lake Tahoe, CA
- Palm Springs, CA
- Phoenix, AZ
- Portland, OR
- San Diego, CA
- Santa Barbara, CA
- Tucson, AZ
- Yosemite National Park

As further evidence of the importance of being at the front of the line, here is the school Anna has constructed in our bedroom and the line of students. Belle (the one with no arms, as opposed to the one WITH arms) has been designated the Star of the Week and is therefore at the front of the line....

Um, can we go over why there is a Belle with no arms?
